Welcome! A Brief History

In 1945 two major organizations of ministers and churches embracing the doctrine and Apostolic Pentecostalism, as related in Acts 2, united to form the United Pentecostal Church. The purpose of this church is "to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ; to establish new churches; to send forth missionaries; to perform any other duties connected with religious work, to help in any way possible to meet the needs of local churches, and to publish and distribute religious literature." The same document also declares, "To this end we now pledge our prayers, our faith, our life, and love, our earthly means of support, and our time, in the fear of God and for His glory alone."

Since its small beginnings, the Foreign Missions Division has grown to sixteen executives and staff members at the International Headquarters office. In 1996 approximately 500 appointed missionaries are working in 131 nations of the world. The Foreign Missions Division of the United Pentecostal Church International reports an international membership of approximately two million constituents and approximately 11,000 licensed national ministers outside of North America. Our Purpose

The objective of the United Pentecostal Church International in organizing the Foreign Missions Division is to proclaim the whole gospel to the whole world by sending forth God-called men and women in obedience to The Great Commission: "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15). It is further stated that "the purpose of the United Pentecostal Church is to seek out and to carry the gospel to the whole world, and to help establish national churches."

The preparing of the church for the coming of Jesus Christ for His bride is the ultimate goal and aim. "That he might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish" (Ephesians 5:27). To this end it is the responsibility of this body to preach the Oneness of God, the absolute and full Deity of Jesus Christ, repentance of sins, baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and receiving the Holy Ghost with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance. Thereafter it is the responsibility of the ministry to teach all baptized believers that they must "follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord" (Hebrews 12:14).
